Safety

Did you know?After an accident.

In the unfortunate event of a severe accident involving a Mercedes-Benz passenger car, several measures are taken immediately to protect the safety of the occupants.

After the airbags are deployed, the engine management system will switch off the engine and fuel pump. The fuel lines will release any residual pressure into the engine cylinders in order to prevent fuel from leaking if the fuel lines become severed. The hazard warning lights and emergency interior lights are automatically activated, the side windows are partially lowered and the doors unlocked. Mercedes-Benz engineers have designed each chassis to provide emergency services with cutting points for the Jaws of Life so that the occupants can be freed from the vehicle as quickly as possible.

This holistic safety approach taken by Mercedes-Benz represents their dedication of providing customers with the safest cars on the road.
